The minimum purchase amount for which a refund is possible depends on the individual market (e.g. in Croatia it is HRK 740.00 including VAT) and only if the customer leaves the area within the next three months.
Until now, only a predefined paper form was used, which the trader must fill out and certify with a seal and signature, and the buyer, when leaving the country (or the common market), must report the TaxFree form at customs.
